About

This is a blog about drinking well and eating well without the theater that usually comes attached. I spent a few years running a small wine shop, talking people into bottles they’d never have picked and learning the unglamorous business behind the romance, and now I write about all of it here: real bottles I actually drank, dinners I actually cooked, the pairings that worked and the ones that flopped in front of guests. Expect strong opinions held loosely, a soft spot for cheap wine that punches above its price, and zero patience for anyone who makes you feel dumb for not knowing what “minerality” means. Wine is meant to make an ordinary evening a little better. That’s the whole project. Pour something you like, cook something you’re proud of, and pull up a chair.
